Position: Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,619 per week

Travel Labor and Delivery RN

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Escondido, California. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts, starting 07/27/2026.

Requirements
  • One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring certification
  • STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Responsibilities
  • Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
  • Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
  • Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols
  • Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
  • Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
  • Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
  • Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

  • Physical abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
  • Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about during procedures and equipment use
  • Mental requirements – manage frequent contact with the general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently and with minimal supervision, maintain concentration on details during irregular schedules
  • Sensory – possess visual acuity and effective communication ability
