Travel Labor and Delivery RN
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Escondido, California. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts, starting 07/27/2026.
Requirements- One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- AWHONN fetal monitoring certification
- STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC)
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
- Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
- Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
- Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions, with basic PC skills
- Physical abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/motor skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about during procedures and equipment use
- Mental requirements – manage frequent contact with the general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently and with minimal supervision, maintain concentration on details during irregular schedules
