Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Weekend Overnight Shift
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to become a vital part of our weekend care team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, manage medications, and work closely with our clinical staff to ensure the health, safety, and well‑being of our residents. You will be instrumental in supporting our residents through their treatment protocols and upholding our mission to provide superior mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Care:
Deliver high‑quality, direct patient care in full compliance with the California Nurse Practice Act. - Medication Management:
Administer medications accurately, strictly adhering to the 7 rights of medication administration. - Assessment & Monitoring:
Conduct thorough nursing assessments, track vital signs (including orthostatic vitals), and monitor height/weight. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including charting and medical reporting. - Communication:
Coordinate effectively with physicians and the Director of Nursing regarding resident status and clinical concerns. - Safety & Compliance:
Monitor for adverse reactions, assist with admissions/discharges, and respond calmly and appropriately to urgent or emergent situations. - Patient Support:
Assist patients with hygiene routines and schedules while providing education on health maintenance and prevention to families and residents.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited LVN nursing program. - Licensure:
Must hold a current, active, and unencumbered license to practice as an LVN in the State of California. - Skills:
Ability to identify a crisis, navigate behavioral changes, and demonstrate strong leadership, organization, and technical proficiency. - Professionalism:
Must maintain a calm demeanor, exercise sound judgment, and multitask effectively in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment. - Cultural Competence:
Ability to demonstrate genuine respect for the cultural and lifestyle diversities of our patients and staff. - Commitment:
Ability to consistently work 12‑hour shifts.
- The role takes place in a clean, professional, and well‑ventilated residential healthcare facility.
- Requires frequent communication and use of hands/fingers for clinical tasks.
- Physical ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels and potential occupational hazards (e.g., bodily fluids) is possible.
