Description
The per diem On Call LVN for extended weekend coverage is responsible for providing direct urgent patient care in San Diego county (under the supervision of the On Call registered nurse). Daytime coverage includes patient visits and phone coverage. Nightime coverage includes only phone coverage. Extended weekend coverage includes
Friday (after 5 pm) until Monday (8:30 am). We pay a flat rate for the on-call, and a per-visit pay rate of $38-$48.
- In addition, we offer a phone reimbursement of $50/month or a company phone.
- Provides direct patient care to patients after hours as directed by the On Call RN as defined in State Nurse Practice Act.
- Implements current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect the plan of care.
- Assess and provide patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis.
- Uses equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently.
- Provides appropriate pain/symptom management. Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications.
- Participates in personal, professional growth and development. Also participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.

Position RequirementsActive LVN license in the State of California(required).
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience(home health or medical/surgical strongly preferred).
Current CPR/BLS certification(American Heart Association preferred).
Valid California driver’s license, reliable automobile, and auto insurance per state/agency requirements.
Strong clinical skills in patient care, observation, and documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; organized, self-driven, and able to prioritize effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to sit occasionally for 1-3 hours.
The ability to frequently stand for 3-6 hours.
The ability to occasionally drive/ operate foot control for 1-3 hours.
The ability to walk intermittently on level and or unlevel surface for less than 1 hour.
The ability to intermittently bend or climb for less than 1 hour.
The ability to occasionally twist, kneel, crouch and crawl for 1-3 hours.
The ability to lift 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours.
The ability to lift greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours.
The ability to carry up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours.
The ability to carry greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours.
The ability to push up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours.
The ability to push greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours.
The ability to pull up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours.
The ability to pull greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours.
