Overview
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Ready-Mix Concrete, Hot-Mix Asphalt, Aggregate, and Recycled Base Materials within designated territories. The role involves managing projects from bid to contract award, proactively resolving customer issues regarding pricing, service, and quality, and building long-term customer relationships through site visits and participation in industry events.
Responsibilities- Promote and sell ready-mix Concrete, Hot-Mix Asphalt, Aggregate, and Recycled Base Materials.
- Identify customer needs, craft accurate quotes tailored to project requirements, and manage projects from bidding to contract award.
- Analyze market conditions, track job progress, and capitalize on upcoming opportunities while maintaining a strong understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Target and attract new clients while maintaining and strengthening existing relationships.
- Conducted client visits to job sites and offices to present company products, monitor project requirements, negotiate sales contracts, and maintain visibility in the field.
- Address customer inquiries, disputes, and issues professionally, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Collaborate with internal departments—AB219, operations, dispatch, credit, and quality control—to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a key point of contact between clients and internal teams to ensure a seamless service experience.
- Maintain detailed sales reports, including activities and market feedback through Salesforce.
- Provide ongoing feedback from the field to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability in customer management.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated personality with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, accounts, and projects simultaneously.
- Advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and other software.
- Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.
- Driver records cannot contain any reckless driving offences, DUIs, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.
- Driver record cannot contain more than 1.5 active points in the last 36 months.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling, and/or action/discipline.
- This role involves significant fieldwork.
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions 90% of the time.
- Ability to drive and sit for extended periods.
- Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 10-25 lbs.
