POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service and Maintenance Technician Power Systems will with minimal supervision; perform duties as assigned by management in the repair, maintenance and/or rebuilding of equipment in the service shop or field, in a safe, efficient and capable manner in the least amount of labor hours necessary, and without rework. All the necessary tooling for this position will be supplied along with the opportunity for training and growth

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensures proper operation of equipment by completing maintenance services and minor repairs; following manufacturers instructions.

Performs regular service and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment to keep in safe, dependable operating condition ensuring proper operations and the removal of parts and attachments.

Determines condition of equipment by inspecting equipment before and after use; reporting requirements.

Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction

Completes reports as requested by entering required information.

Continually updates product knowledge needed to work on new models.

Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing duties assigned.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintains shop tools, equipment, and work areas.

Cleans equipment by operating wash rack steam cleaner and high-pressure washer.

Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor

AREAS OF FOCUS:

Tasks will include lubricating, changing oil, changing air and oil filters, and checking and adding fluids, including windshield washers, transmissions, cooling systems, brakes, and differentials.

Performs all requirements found in any Caterpillar Lubrication & Maintenance Guide and / or OMM

Makes necessary small repairs along with trouble shooting codes using ET. Repairs may include component replacement, updates, electrical, sensors, G.E.T. etc.

Assists in preparing mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Zero to two (0-2) years minimum experience with heavy equipment/diesel experience

Certification or degree from accredited trade program strongly preferred.

Experience using electronic devices such as laptops tablets, smart phones, and cell phone applications.

Must have a valid California Class C drivers license and a clean driving record.

Must be a good communicator and have good customer service skills.

Must read, write and speak English fluently.
