Laser Electric is an electrical contractor experienced in all phases of the commercial and industrial power and control portions of the electrical trade. We are known for long-term stability and loyalty to our customers and employees. The Service Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities. We are looking for Qualified Service Electricians in the San Diego area.

Your Role: A Conduit of Success!
The qualified applicant should have a strong background and experience in the following areas :
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Respond to customer service calls, emergency outages, equipment failures, and operational issues.
- Analyze electrical schematics, circuitry, blueprints, and control drawings to identify and resolve system problems.
- Perform electrical testing and fault-finding on power distribution, lighting, controls, and related systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain lighting control systems.
- Perform EMT and rigid conduit installation.
- Install switch gear, panel boards, disconnects, and associated electrical equipment.
- Pull wire and perform equipment terminations.
- Document findings, corrective actions, and recommendations for customers.
- Work independently to prioritize service calls and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Safely work from ladders, aerial lifts, and other access equipment.
- Maintain a professional customer-focused approach during normal and emergency service situations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours emergency service.
- Ensure all installations and service calls meet NEC requirements, contract specifications, and company quality standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, timekeeping, safety documentation, and other administrative duties as required
- Champion and enforce Cal/OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies, including:
- Conducting job hazard analyses
- leading onsite safety meetings and inspections
- Ensuring PPE compliance
- Addressing unsafe conditions immediately
Required Qualifications
- Current State of CA General Electrician License
- Pass pre-employment testing, including a Drug Test, DMV/MVR, and security screenings and background checks at state and federal facilities
- Ability to read blueprints, manage plans and schedules
- On call rotation and be available 24/7 while on call for one week at a time.
Work Environment
This position involves work in active construction environments and includes the physical activities described below. - Work may be noisy, cramped, dirty and poorly ventilated.
- May work either inside or outside in any weather (cold, rain, heat)
- Hazards include risk of electrical shock and other work-site accidents
- 40-hour workweek is normal; however, overtime may be offered. Service Technicians may work nights and weekends and will generally be on call 24/7 one week per month
- Medium physical demands require lifting of 25lbs or less and occasionally lifting up to 120lbs.
- Must have use of feet, legs, hands and arms to climb and/or balance on scaffolding or ladders
- Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, sometimes in cramped and awkward positioning
- Must have use of arms, hands and fingers to reach, handle and feel cable, wires, tools, and other equipment
- Must be able to see and hear, or have corrected vision, both close and distant, or hearing aid
- Must be able to distinguish color coded wires
- Must be able to adjust focus and use peripheral vision and depth perception
