Residential Youth Mentor
Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Residential Youth Mentor at San Pasqual Academy in Escondido, California.
San Pasqual Academy is located on a beautiful 238 acres in rural San Pasqual Valley. SPA is equipped with all the amenities of a private high school, including classrooms, an auditorium, gym, and cafeteria. On grounds sports and activities include basketball, softball, and football. Our unique campus features residential staff and house parents serving as surrogate parents who mentor and tutor students, teach age-appropriate independent living skills, create opportunities to explore new interests, encourage participation in sports and recreation, assist in the exploration of career and job opportunities, and promote family living skills.
Pay: starting at $19.00/hr. $1500 longevity and training bonus for full-time positions!

You will be eligible for Medical insurance on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. You will be eligible for the rest of the Rite of Passage Benefits Package immediately after 90 days of full-time employment., and 403b match of up to 6% after 1 year of employment, Paid Time Off that can be used as soon as it accrues and more!
What you will do:
Child Care Worker provide safety and around-the-clock in person supervision of youth. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development; provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students; monitor and document student behaviors and activities; participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities;
work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student's treatment plan.
To be considered you should:
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
Schedule:
4 days per week, 10-hour shifts.
Shift 1
- Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday- 7am-5pm
Shift 2 - Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday - 1pm-11pm
Shift 3
- Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday- 7am-5pm
Shift 4
- Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday- 1pm-11pm
