Operate all equipment. Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler. Prepare product. Receive and process telephone orders. Take inventory and complete associated paperwork. Clean equipment and facility approximately daily. Deliver product by car and then to customer door. Deliver flyers and door hangers.
RequiresValid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards. Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
TrainingOrientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
- Must be able to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid and accurate movement.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigational skills to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings and private homes while carrying product.
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing outside tasks.
- In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some areas.
- Sudden changes in temperature both inside and outside.
- Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Physical Requirements
- Standing:
Most tasks performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces; height of work surfaces between 36” and 48”. - Walking:
Short distances for short durations. Delivery personnel must travel between store, vehicle, and customers. - Sitting:
Paperwork normally completed at a desk or table. - Lifting:
Bulk product deliveries unloaded by hand truck; cases up to 50 lbs, 3’ x 1.5’. Stacking onto shelves up to 72”. - Carrying:
Large cans, 3 lbs 7 oz, carried from workstation to storage. Occasionally pizza sauce weighing 30 lbs carried from storage to front. Trays of pizza dough weighed about 12 lbs each, carried three at a time. - Driving:
Deliver pizzas within designated area; may make several deliveries per shift. - Pushing:
Push or pull trays on dollies; force up to 7.5 lbs. - Climbing:
Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders; up to five flights of stairs during delivery. - Bending/stooping:
Forward bending at pizza assembly station, duration 40-45 seconds repeated during the day. - Crouching/squatting:
Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas. - Reaching:
Continuously up, down, and forward. Reach above 72” occasionally to turn on/off oven, change signs, lift/lower objects. Reach down to scoop cornmeal from barrel or wash dishes; forward to obtain topping ingredients, clean work surfaces, or answer phones.
