Superflex Roadside Technician

Job Overview

Join the RAC as a Super Flex Roadside Mechanic. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on. You’ll work the average 40 hours per week across the year, receiving your roster seven days in advance with core working hours confirmed three days prior. Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

You’ll be part of the Esher cluster, covering areas such as Esher, Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, Epsom, Ewell, Tolworth, Chessington, Worcester Park, Sutton, Croydon, Mitcham, Wimbledon. Work is organised locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

• Provide timely and effective roadside assistance across a diverse range of situations.
• Diagnose faults, replace flats, resolve battery issues, and perform other on‑the‑spot repairs.
• Manage your own kit, keep your van stocked, and handle reports with precision.
• Support each member, keeping everyone moving and showcasing the RAC difference.

• A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• A customer‑focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to work at relatively short notice and open to travel with overnight stays, if necessary.

• Competitive base pay of £55,869 a year (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with bonuses and overtime taking you up to £61,000.
