Job Description

Reports To: Person designated by the Superintendent

Supervises: Staff members designated by the Principal

Job Goal: To relieve the principal of such impediments that prevent him from fulfilling his chief responsibility of promoting the educational well‑being of each student in the school.

Qualifications
  • Required state certification
  • Experience as an educational leader
  • Other qualifications as determined by the Superintendent
Responsibilities
  • Effective and efficient planning
  • Physical management of the school
  • Management of designated personnel
  • Discipline and control of students
  • Development of teaching resources
  • Facilities optimization
  • All other duties required in the operation of the school
  • Attend all staff meetings and school board meetings
  • Make frequent classroom observations
  • Help develop supervision schedules, ADM reports, and other operational forms
  • Contribute to the development of local handbooks
  • Work with counselors to improve local test scores
  • Develop an excellent in‑service program with staff
  • Implement school climate recommendations jointly with staff
  • Assist in supervision, student discipline, and student activities
  • Identify special programs and implement innovative initiatives
  • Assist school implementation team in designing teacher training
  • Maintain frequent conferences with the principal to discuss questions and problems
  • Assist with cafeteria operations, payroll certification, and maintenance of buildings and grounds
  • Inform principal of unusual events and routine matters
  • Teach at least one class daily as assigned
  • Serve as acting principal in the principal’s absence
  • Supervise student attendance reporting and investigative follow‑up
  • Other duties assigned by the Principal
Term of Employment & Evaluation

Term of Employment: Salary according to the Salary Schedule

Evaluation: Performance evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Benefits & Compensation

Position Type: Full‑time

Salary: $86,250 to $90,470 per year
