General Job Function
:

The LEA seeks a creative, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual to serve as Local GEAR UP New Mexico (GUNM) Data Coordinator. The GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Partnership is funded by the US Department of Education to increase the college-going rate of low-income secondary school students in LEA. GUNM offers various services and resources to help students and their families succeed throughout their college and career journey.

This is a full-time, 10-month position, contingent upon external funding.

Education/Training/Experience
:

  • AA degree in related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

Knowledge/

Skills and Abilities

:

  • Understanding of and experience with student information collection and analysis for federal grant reporting
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (preferably Synergy)
  • Experience with relational database technologies (including Zoho, Asana, and SCRIBE)
  • Experience with data extraction, reporting, and analysis tools (Excel, STARS)
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with event planning
  • Experience with communications strategies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database design and data techniques
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to deliver clean data promptly
  • Ability to work across the district departments to realize efficiencies and accomplish program goals.
  • Ability to establish rapport with adults and adolescents and serve as a positive

role model is essential.

Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to):

Standard office equipment and vehicle for district travel. A district car may be used or if the employee uses his/her own vehicle mileage reimbursement is available.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements
:

Regularly required to walk, talk, and listen. Frequently is required to stand and sit. Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Light lifting at times.

Essential Job Functions
:

  • Collect, enter, and report GUNM data for all middle and high school GEAR UP activities
  • Gather and maintain documentation and data on all activities and programs that provide services to GUNM students, their parents, and teachers.
  • Regularly and reliably enter all student, staff, and family activity participation into the GUNM database
  • Compile and report data for the GUNM Regional Coordinator for program evaluation and other reporting purposes
  • Create requisitions, manage purchase orders, and provide timely updates to program inventories
  • Complete monthly and annual financial reports including requests for reimbursements, time and effort reporting, and grant matching inventories.
  • Attend all GUNM site meetings, Zoom meetings, and regional and state trainings
