Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment in New Mexico, requiring a minimum of two years of large OR experience and at least one prior 13-week travel assignment.

Job Details

• Work setting is a hospital Operating Room (OR) department,

• 10-hour day shifts with a 0630 start time (8-hour shifts also possible),

• 4 days per week, 40 hours per week,

• Weekend and on-call availability required as needed,

• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required,

• Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required - on-site training available,

• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular OR experience is a plus,

Job Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required,

• BLS required, completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross,

• ACLS and PALS preferred (if obtained, must be from an approved provider),

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a large OR setting required,

• Must be able to scrub,

• ADN or ASN degree required,

• At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required,

• English fluency required (speaking, reading, and writing),

• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to work as part of a team,

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation,

• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team,

• Responsible for administering medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols,

• Assumes clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible,

• Former permanent staff of this health system must have a one-year waiting period before being considered as a traveler,

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
