Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Clinical Nurse (Antepartum/Intrapartum/Postpartum) in Espanola, New Mexico. Provide clinical assessment, evaluation, stabilization, and medication administration for obstetric triage patients, laboring patients, and postpartum/newborn patients. Candidates must bring a valid license on the first day.

Fetal assessment, preparation for safe delivery (scheduled or emergency cesarean), immediate newborn stabilization, and newborn care.
- Antepartum: assess triage patients >20 weeks, use obstetric triage acuity tools, evaluate labor, fetal assessment, screen for preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding, and other critical conditions. Provide stabilization for emergency medical conditions.
- Intrapartum: labor assessment, fetal monitoring, medication administration (Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, insulin), newborn stabilization, and support scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery.
- Postpartum/Newborn: assessment and care of postpartum (vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients, newborn care including hearing screening, laboratory draws, IV starts and care, medication administration (Hep B, vitamin K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assistance with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia care.
- Minimum 2 years of current nursing experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- State of New Mexico or Compact State nursing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification.
- Demonstrated competence in labor assessment, fetal evaluation, patient stabilization, medication administration, and obstetric triage acuity tools.
- Experience with EPIC (on‑site training available).
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles may be required.
