06/22/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. 40 hours per week.

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13‑week travel assignment. The OR RN provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares the operating room, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready.
  • Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Maintains a sterile field and adheres to infection control protocols.
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments and supplies promptly.
  • Monitors patient condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
  • Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport.
  • Documents all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participates in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases.
  • Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases.
  • Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies.
  • Follows safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications.
  • OR Nursing Certification (CNOR).
  • Additional certifications or licenses may be required.
Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • English reading, writing, and communication proficiency.
  • Ability to read instructions, follow verbal instructions, and PC skills.
  • Physical strength to move equipment 50‑100 lbs, bend, push, pull.
  • Professional attitude and teamwork skills with diverse personnel.
  • Fine motor skills for assisting with procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to cope with frequent public contact, work under tight deadlines, and maintain concentration.
  • Visual acuity and effective communication.
