American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Family Birthing Center (FBC) / Labor & Delivery position in Española, NM, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active NM or Compact RN licensure.
Requirements- Active NM or Compact State RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS (must be issued by AHA, AHSI, or American Red Cross), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of current L&D/FBC experience required
- ADN or ASN degree required (minimum)
- Proficiency with L&D medications including Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin
- Skills in newborn care required, including stabilization, medication administration, hearing screens, IV starts, lab draws, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care, and care of opiate withdrawal newborns
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Work setting is a Women's Care unit providing antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum/newborn care in a hospital environment
- 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730, three days per week (36 hours/week)
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- EMR:
Epic — experience preferred but on-site training is available - Antepartum responsibilities include triage assessment for patients >20 weeks, obstetric triage acuity tool use, fetal evaluation, and evaluation for conditions such as preeclampsia, PTL, PPROM, vaginal bleeding, and acute/critical conditions
- Intrapartum responsibilities include labor assessment and care, fetal evaluation, preparation for vaginal and cesarean deliveries, medication administration, and immediate newborn stabilization
- Postpartum/newborn responsibilities include assessment and care of post-vaginal and post-cesarean patients, newborn medication administration, circumcision assistance, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, and phototherapy management
- STABLE certification is preferred
- Candidates who were previously employed by Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
