Under the direct supervision of the Municipal Judge and Court Administrator, this position is responsible for monitoring and providing security within the courthouse during open court. The Bailiff assists the Judge, court staff, and defendants during court proceedings while helping to maintain order within the court. This is an unarmed security position but will be required to operate security and metal detecting equipment at the entrance to the courthouse or courtroom.
When not performing court/security duties, generally when Court is not in session, this position performs graffiti abatement duties; and can also perform various other duties as designated.
Qualifications- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Two (2) years related experience and/or training
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license and be insurable by City’s auto insurance provider
