The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide support to pupils throughout the school day.
The successful SEND LSA will be responsible for:- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
- Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and engagement
- Assisting the class teacher with differentiated classroom activities
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting pupils with their emotional regulation and behaviour where required
- Following individual support plans and strategies
- Creating a calm, positive and safe learning environment
- Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and other support staff
- Supporting pupils with personal care where required
- Experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs, ideally within SEND, education, care or support work
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Confidence supporting pupils with a variety of individual needs
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved throughout the school day
- A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' learning, development and wellbeing
Previous school experience is beneficial; however, candidates with experience in care, support work, healthcare, youth work or other transferable backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
