Our client is growing environmental consultancy in the Essex is looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist with a bat licence. This position would suit an experienced ecologist who enjoys variety, autonomy and the chance to have real input within a close-knit team.

The practice works across a broad mix of projects including residential, commercial and community led schemes, with ecology forming a core part of the wider consultancy offering.

The Senior Ecologist will take the lead on ecological surveys, reporting and project coordination, working closely with colleagues across landscape, planning and arboriculture. The role offers a good balance of fieldwork and report writing, with scope to shape how ecology services continue to develop.

The office is based in Essex in a well-connected semi-rural location. It is easily accessible by road and within reach of mainline train stations offering direct services into London and the surrounding region. Local bus routes also connect nearby towns, making the commute straightforward.

• Proven experience working as an ecologist in the UK
• A bat survey licence is essential
• Strong survey and reporting skills across a range of habitats and species
• Confident managing projects and client relationships
