Position: Multi-Trades Person – Social Housing
Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi-Trades Person with proven experience in the social housing sector. The ideal candidate will be an expert in one core trade — Must be very competent in Carpentry and plumbing — while also possessing hands-on skills in at least one additional trade, making them a reliable all-rounder capable of delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across domestic properties.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment works in social housing properties.

* Deliver high-quality workmanship across your primary trade (Plumbing, Roofing, or Joinery).

* Undertake secondary trade tasks such as plastering, tiling, painting, decorating, or basic electrical work.

* Diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants.

* Ensure all works comply with current building regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.

* Provide excellent customer service, liaising with tenants and housing officers in a professional manner.

* Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

* Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and performance targets.

* Keep tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order.

Qualifications & Skills

* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Plumbing or Joinery.

* Demonstrable experience in social housing repairs and maintenance beneficial.

* Hands-on ability in at least one additional trade (e.g., plastering, tiling, decorating, basic electrics).

* Strong knowledge of health and safety practices, including risk assessments.

* Clean UK driving licence.

* Clean DBS check.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varied tasks.

* Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach
