Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are partnering with an established real estate developer to hire a Sr. Land Development Manager to support large-scale master-planned residential communities throughout Southwest Florida.

This is a hands-on, developer-side engineering role that combines engineering oversight, permitting, consultant coordination, and time in the field on active development sites as needed. The engineer will gain exposure to the entire development lifecycle, from planning and permitting through infrastructure installation and construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on engineering support for large-scale residential land development projects.
  • Review site development plans, grading, drainage, stormwater systems, utilities, environmental/restoration plans, plats, surveys, title commitments, board documents, and invoices.
  • Monitor earthwork, drainage, utility installation, environmental restoration, and other infrastructure activities in the field.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, environmental consultants, surveyors, contractors, and internal development teams.
  • Support permitting with agencies including SFWMD, FDEP, ACOE, Lee County, and other applicable governmental agencies.
  • Review construction drawings, technical reports, engineering deliverables, quantity takeoffs, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Track engineering, design, construction, and permitting milestones.
  • Participate in site inspections and monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with engineering and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with engineering due diligence and technical evaluation of future development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in civil engineering, environmental engineering, land development, or site development.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS software such as ArcGIS.
  • Understanding of earthwork, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site infrastructure.
  • Strong project coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in both an office environment and extensively in the field on active development sites.
Preferred
  • Residential land development or master-planned community experience.
  • Familiarity with Florida stormwater and environmental permitting.
  • Experience working with SFWMD, FDEP, ACOE, Lee County, or similar regulatory agencies.
  • EIT/EI certification, PE license, or actively pursuing professional licensure.
  • Hydrology, hydraulics, or drainage modeling experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to move beyond a traditional design-focused position and gain broad exposure to engineering, permitting, environmental, and construction activities from the developer's perspective.

Competitive compensation and benefits package based on experience and qualifications.
