Development Director

Overview

We are currently hiring a Development Director in the Greater Southwest Florida market!

The Director will generate revenue for our Heart Challenge fundraising campaign, which includes our signature Collier County and Lee County Heart Walk events.

In this role you will report to the Executive Director and will be expected to live in the Greater Naples or Ft. Myers market; travel within the market is required.

The position offers a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive of up to 25% of your base pay, based on achieving revenue targets and triggers.

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations, achieving revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors through research that matches campaign goals and the Association’s mission.
• Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day‑of‑the‑event volunteers.
• Recruit corporate team participation in Heart Walk and motivate team members to fundraise.
• Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with appropriate fundraising staff, including planning and implementing regular engagement events.
• Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Work with the Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel locally up to 75% of the time and occasional overnight trips; requires reliable transportation at all times.
• Capability to lift or move large objects, with the expectation that heavier items may be broken into smaller components or additional assistance may be requested.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Preferred: experience managing and cultivating high‑level leaders at the C‑Suite level and knowledge of corporate and community networks.
