The Rural Municipality of Cymri No. 36 is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our office team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, comfortable working with financial information, and able to provide excellent customer service in a municipal office environment. Located in Midale, this is a 3‑month term position with the possibility of extension. The position may be filled on either a full‑time or part‑time basis, depending on the successful candidate and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for ratepayers, vendors, businesses, contractors, government agencies, and the public
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting materials, and other municipal documents
  • Answer and direct phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide administrative support to the municipal office
  • Maintain records, filing systems, schedules, and office documentation
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, budget tracking, and financial reporting
  • Coordinate meetings, training sessions, conferences, and other municipal events
  • Conduct research, compile information, and prepare reports as required
  • Support daily office operations and perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Previous administrative, bookkeeping, or municipal experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with municipal software is an asset but not required
Compensation

Wage is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
