Interim Vice President of Clinical Services & CNE

A well-known and strategically important community hospital is seeking an experienced professional to lead the clinical teams through a period of transition and to help elevate the staff and patient experience. This exciting assignment will partner you with the CEO to conduct a thorough review of the current strategies, processes, policies, and people and provide recommendations to improve the staff and patient experience and then execute on the agreed strategies.
This is a classic ‘fly the plane’ whilst ‘remodeling the plane’ assignment and is perfect for an experienced clinical executive looking to utilize their talents to make a difference.
- Provide the CEO with an assessment of the clinical operations team and suggest strategies to manage risk, improve operational effectiveness and the patient’s experience.
- Lead, coach and inspire a diverse team.
- Assess the current clinical model of delivery and provide direction to the CEO on how this can be improved.
- Partner with the CEO and the SLT to prepare the organization for a new HIS system.
- Work with the SLT and regional partners to create a 5-year clinical services plan.
- Perform a talent assessment of the function providing key insights to the CEO.
- Provide insights on the quality management framework and perform a refresh of the strategy.
- Maintain the strategic direction of clinical care areas and promote high quality, patient focused care.
- Lead a model of care change project.
- Collaborate with the CEO to resolve challenges relating to patient care in the hospital and recommend changes in policy and procedures which would help conduct the objectives of the departments and the hospital more efficiently.
- Ensure the maintenance of the multi-professional team committed to collaborative decision-making, quality care planning and education.
- Drive strategic insights and direction, create energy and enthusiasm for progressive change across the organization.
- Facilitate information sharing on relevant issues and operational issues between the programs and other hospital groups.
- Enhance standards for quality of care and risk management and help direct reports to understand and focus on outcome indicators.
- Lead departmental management for all clinical programs and serve as a resource to staff members.
- Ensure nursing professional standards are met.
- Establish standards for quality of care and risk management helping direct reports to focus on outcome indicators.
- Build an effective team and foster a positive work environment.
- Master’s degree in nursing, Health Care Administration or Business Administration.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a senior clinical role.
- Proven leader as a VP & CNE.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses.
