Position Summary

This position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing large surface mining and plant equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on equipment and report any deficiencies.
• Identify worn and damaged parts, repairing, adjusting, or replacing as needed.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Perform preventative maintenance and operational performance checks on equipment.
• Respond to unplanned equipment outages and assist with preparing major planned shutdowns.
• Maintain records of repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
• Operate tandem axel truck and support equipment as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Red Seal Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification.
• Valid class 3 or 1 driver’s license with air (A) endorsement is preferred.
• Previous experience in a mining environment is an asset.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights.

Schedule

• This position currently follows a 28-day shift rotation working day and night shifts from 7:00 to 7:00.
• The shift rotation is: 3 days, 2 off, 2 nights, 3 off, 2 days, 2 off, 3 nights, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off, 2 nights, 2 off.

Location

• The Estevan Mine is located approximately 12 km from the city of Estevan and 16 km from the town of Bienfait.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own accommodations and transportation.
