Amrize Construction is seeking a seasonal, full-time Screed Operator to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring high-quality asphalt paving operations while maintaining safety, efficiency, and teamwork on job sites. The successful candidate will operate the screed on a paver, monitor material production, and contribute to the overall success of our paving operations. This is a full-time seasonal position.
Responsibilities- Fully trained in the operations and capability of the screed on a paver.
- Work as part of a team to operate the paver efficiently.
- Perform repair and maintenance on the paver under the direction of the plant foreman or lead hand.
- Ensure accurate thickness of asphalt and monitor material production within specifications.
- Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product.
- Assist with various job site operations as needed.
- Create an atmosphere of teamwork and seek out best practices.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) - Work Experience:
Min 2 years of experience operating a screed (Required) - Training/
Certifications:
Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Required) - Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of City of Saskatoon Specifications, ability to read survey markings - Travel Requirements:
Frequent travel between job sites within the City of Saskatoon and surrounding areas - Additional Requirements:
Mechanically inclined with experience in basic equipment maintenance. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. Proven ability to follow safe work procedures and complete field risk assessments. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE.
