Southern Enterprise School of Arts and the Creative Arts Network Podcast is a vibrant community platform dedicated to sharing stories, art, and conversations. Operating out of our dedicated studio in Euclid, Ohio, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality live broadcasts. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and tech-friendly Volunteer Podcast Producer to join our team, manage our studio equipment, and help bring our live shows to life!

As a Volunteer Producer, you will run the technical side of our podcast recordings. You will manage audio levels, sound effects, and ensure our live broadcasts run smoothly. No prior professional experience is required! We will fully train you on our state-of-the-art studio equipment. You just need to be ON TIME and have a strong commitment to learn and grow. .

What You Will Learn & Operate (The Tascam Mixcast
4)

You will be trained to operate the Tascam Mixcast 4, an all-in-one professional podcast production studio. Key features of the board you will master include:

• Intuitive 5-inch Touchscreen: Navigating settings, adjusting micro-mixes, and managing live audio.
• Multi-Microphone Mixing: Controlling up to 4 in-studio microphones using auto-mix technology to ensure crystal-clear sound.
• Custom Sound Pads: Triggering intro music, transition jingles, and live sound effects using 8 customizable pads.
• Mix-Minus Call Integration: Bringing in remote guests smoothly via Bluetooth or Aux cable without echo or feedback.
• Multi-Track Recording: Direct-to-SD card recording and integrating files with the Tascam Podcast Editor software.

To ensure you are fully confident behind the mixing board, we provide hands-on training.

1. Mandatory Weekly Training

Hours:

• Tuesdays: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
• Saturdays: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM

You will be required to sit in on one of our weekly live broadcasts to assist and gain live experience:

• Mondays: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
• OR
• Thursdays: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• No experience necessary, but you must have an interest in audio production and a strong willingness to learn the Miscast 4 hardware and software.
• Reliable transport to our studio in Euclid, OH.
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.

What You Will Learn

• The ability to plan, structure, and produce podcast episodes, including developing show concepts and organizing content.
• Audio recording, editing, and mixing using common digital audio workstations or editing software.
• Skills in managing recording equipment, microphones, and basic studio or portable recording setups.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with children, educators, and school staff.
• Organizational and time-management skills and how meet production deadlines.
• How to create appropriate content and maintaining a safe, respectful environment for students.
