The Bearings, Seals, and Hydraulics (BSH) Engineering Group has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technician located at the BSH Facility in Euclid, Ohio. The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for the Hydraulics department supporting the planning and technical execution of power generation components.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with shop floor to support effective and efficient communication of engineering technical requirements.
- Prepare job planning documents for production.
- Prepare technical documents and instructions for production and outside vendors.
- Estimate and communicate hours and costs needed to complete jobs and discovery work including written reporting.
- Perform preliminary review of drawings, forms and work instructions.
- Facilitate jobs by ensuring production has proper tooling, parts and supplies to proceed.
- Prepare daily status updates.
- Monitor workflow and shop schedule to ensure delivery dates are met.
- Regular use of measuring instruments, hardness tester, material analyzer.
- Determine drawing tolerances and material selection for new parts for review.
- Draft incoming inspection reports.
- Draft final reports.
- Reverse engineering of used components in need of replacement using micrometers and hand tools.
- Drafting of part components from reverse engineered dimensions using 3D and 2D CAD methods (Autodesk Inventor &Auto CAD2D preferred).
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure diminished parts are replenished.
- Ensure all engineering documents and communication is properly filed.
- Ability and willingness to support emergent work items during nights and weekends, as required during unplanned and scheduled outages.
- Travel up to 10% to other MD&A shop locations and customer power plant sites as needed.
- Experience with Hydraulic components; actuators, control valves, feed pumps etc

- Self-starter that demonstrates initiative
- Mechanical inclination with the ability to apply knowledge to hands-on solutions.
- Ability to take direction and act independently.
- Strong communication and organization skills; including report writing and continuously communicating with customers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain organized while doing so
- Must be willing to work overtime. During outage season OT could be 20+ hours a week.
A.A.S in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (preferred but not required) or Relevant Technical Experience in an Industrial Environment. CAD software experience required.
Physical DemandsExposure to repair shops and office environments;
Ability to travel to various shops within MD&A. Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
