Position Summary

The Technologist will play a critical hands‑on role in supporting new product trials, process optimization, and the development of digitally enabled manufacturing models. This position ensures fast, accurate execution of plant floor experiments, data collection, and equipment set‑up to accelerate new product industrialization and improve process reliability. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, mechanically adept, and comfortable working across R&D, Engineering, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Trial Support – Execute on‑floor trials for new products, new processes, and process changes.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust manufacturing equipment during trials.
  • Capture critical process parameters, product attributes, and operator observations.
  • Data Collection & Technical Support – Conduct instrumentation setup (thermocouples, flow/pressure sensors, etc.) to support experiment needs.
  • Collect and validate data during trials; ensure accurate logging and traceability.
  • Prepare samples, run basic laboratory tests, and document results.
  • Process Optimization Assistance – Support SMEs and Engineers in implementing process changes, DOE execution, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with root‑cause investigations for quality or reliability issues.
  • Contribute observations and practical insights into process capability and operator usability.
  • Documentation & Standards – Maintain accurate records of trial conditions, results, deviations, and learnings.
  • Support development of standardized work, process instructions, and methods documentation.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Partner with Operations personnel, Process SMEs, Product Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Communicate trial progress, findings, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Level II:
    Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology plus 3+ years of experience OR Associate degree in related field plus 5+ years of related experience OR 10+ years of experience.
  • Level III:
    Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology plus 5+ years of experience OR Associate degree in related field plus 7+ years of related experience OR 15+ years of experience.
  • Level IV:
    Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology plus 9+ years of experience OR Associate degree in related field plus 11+ years of related experience OR 20+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate floor‑level production equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Competency with measurement instruments and basic statistical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in metalworking, welding consumables, thermal processes, electroplating, or similar manufacturing fields.
  • Exposure to digital data acquisition systems or digital twins – a plus.
  • Experience supporting DOE, pilot runs, or scale‑up operations.
