The Expansion Joints Machinist is responsible for making parts ready for welding and fabrication.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and prepare the operation.

Select best method of machining to achieve desired tolerance, speed and finish.

Perform calculation to form the work piece.

Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine.

Select tools and materials for the job, plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations, and mark the work piece to show where cuts should be made.

Perform the necessary machining & grinding operations using equipment including but not limited to: a Beveling Machine, Plasma Torch, Hand Grinder, Hand Torch, Chop Saw, and Pedestal Grinder.

Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to understand and follow English instructions.

Ability to read and understand all measuring devices.

Ability to operate a lift truck.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 70 pounds; transfer 50 – 100 pounds with the help of another person.

Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to use hand and power tools.

Good vision required.
