Acme Gridley Setup Technician – 1st Shift

Location: Euclid, OH
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: $25.00–$27.00/hour

Hire Sync is hiring an experienced Acme Gridley Setup Technician for a well-established precision manufacturing company in Euclid, OH. If you have strong Acme setup experience, enjoy working independently, and take pride in producing high-quality precision parts, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable manufacturer with a four-day workweek.

In this role, you'll be responsible for complete machine setups from blueprint to finished part while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.

What You'll Do:
  • Set up and operate Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machines
  • Complete full machine setups from blueprint and part layout
  • Install and adjust cams, gears, collets, pushers, tooling, and attachments
  • Work with dovetail forms, floating shave tools, knee tools, knurling, tapping, thread rolling, accelerated reaming, recess, pick-off attachments, and other tooling
  • Verify first-piece inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job routings, and specifications
  • Perform tooling changes, sharpening, and replacement as needed
  • Tear down completed setups and prepare machines for future jobs
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Assist and train team members when needed
  • Support preventative maintenance efforts and report equipment issues
What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum of 3 years of Acme Gridley setup experience
  • Ability to perform complete setups independently from blueprint to finished part
  • Strong knowledge of screw machine tooling, attachments, cams, and gearing
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Commitment to producing quality work and maintaining a safe work environment
