The Procurement Contract Specialist is responsible for managing supplier compliance, contractual documentation, and audit readiness within a regulated government and aerospace environment. This role ensures suppliers meet all applicable regulatory, contractual, and quality requirements, including annual certifications, approved sourcing controls, and audit participation. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in defense and aerospace procurement, familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR), and expertise in supplier compliance management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and track Annual Supplier Representations & Certifications
, ensuring all suppliers maintain current and compliant documentation. - Review supplier certifications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable government and aerospace regulations (FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, etc.).
- Maintain records and ensure audit-ready documentation for internal and external reviews.
Approved Supplier List (ASL) Management
- Administer and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) in alignment with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with quality, engineering, and supply chain teams.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and compliance status to support ASL inclusion decisions.
- Coordinate supplier risk assessments and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Audit Support & Execution
- Support internal and external supply chain audits
, including customer, regulatory, and certification audits. - Participate in audit preparation activities, including documentation gathering, gap analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Conduct on-site supplier audits as required to assess compliance with contractual, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to address audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Contract & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure procurement activities comply with government contracting requirements
, including flow-down clauses and documentation. - Review and interpret supplier contract terms to ensure execution aligns with company policies and regulations.
- Support contract file maintenance and procurement documentation audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Legal teams to ensure supplier compliance and audit readiness.
- Provide guidance to suppliers regarding regulatory requirements and documentation expectations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supplier management processes.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing Approved Supplier Lists (ASL).
- Experience supporting or participating in internal/external audits
. - Ability to conduct supplier on-site audits

Preferred
- Experience in government, aerospace, or defense industries
. - Professional certifications (e.g.,
CPSM, CPIM, CPCM
). - Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong knowledge of:
- FAR / DFARS regulations
- ITAR / EAR compliance
- Annual Supplier Reps & Certs
- Attention to detail and compliance-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Audit preparedness and documentation rigor
- Problem-solving and risk assessment capability
- Ability to work in highly regulated environments
- May require up to 20–30% travel for supplier site audits and assessments.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, compliance-driven aerospace/defense environment.
