Position OverviewWe are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support our Euclid manufacturing facility.
Reporting to the Director of Quality & Continuous Improvement
, the EHS Coordinator is responsible for administering Elmet's environmental, health, and safety programs while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Quality, and an external environmental consultant to promote a proactive safety culture, reduce risk, maintain environmental compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Develop and deliver safety training, new hire orientation, annual training plans, and ongoing employee education programs.
- Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage OSHA recordkeeping, regulatory reporting, workers' compensation, safety metrics, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance activities.
- Facilitate safety committees, internal audits, emergency preparedness, hazard communication, chemical management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to integrate safety into new equipment, manufacturing processes, capital projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, training records, emergency response plans, and support a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the facility.
- Strong employee participation in safety programs and training
- Timely completion of regulatory reporting, permit renewals, and compliance activities
- Reduced workplace incidents, injuries, and workers' compensation claims
- Effective investigations resulting in sustainable corrective actions
- Accurate, audit-ready safety and environmental documentation
- Strong collaboration with employees, supervisors, and site leadership
- A visible culture of shared responsibility for safety and environmental performance
- 3-5 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, safety management systems, and regulatory reporting
- Experience developing and delivering employee safety training programs
- Strong understanding of hazard assessments, job safety analyses, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Experience influencing change and building a positive safety culture across an organization
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States in compliance with ITAR requirements
