This position is responsible for supervising the programs and operations of the Eufaula Parks and Recreation Community Center.
- Coordinates the use of the facility with the general public, civic groups, and schools; manages facility reservations.
- Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel.
- Coordinates public relations activities for the Recreation Center; maintains department website and social media accounts; prepares press releases; designs marketing materials; designs publications for tournaments and other events; prepares and delivers public presentations.
- Monitors expenses, purchases, and inventory; makes purchases; negotiates contracts with vendors.
- Prepares invoices for facility reservations, events sponsors, and special programs.
- Attends meetings of the Parks and Recreation Board; records minutes; prepares Board packets.
- Monitors daily activities and enforces rules and regulations.
- Prepares work orders for building maintenance and event set‑up.
- Recruits, trains, and directs contract instructors.
- Plans, organizes, and supervises special events.
- Recruits sponsors and events; sells ad space.
- Assists in the planning, organizing, and staffing of Community Center seasonal programs.
- Responds to and resolves complaints and concerns.
- Performs related duties.
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience or service.
- Ability to follow the guidelines which include Parks and Recreation Board bylaws and city and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.

- Knowledge of personnel management principles.

The work consists of varied duties in the supervision of recreation center operations. The variety of tasks to be performed contributes to the complexity of the work. The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table. The employee frequently lifts light objects. The work is typically performed in an office in recreation facilities. The purpose of this position is to supervise Community Center operations and programs.
Successful performance in this position contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of leisure services to area residents.
