Description What You’ll Do- Review vendor invoices and payments to ensure accuracy, proper approvals, terms compliance, and correct general ledger coding.
- Process and maintain payment transactions and financial records.
- Assist with period‑end close activities and post transactions to journals and ledgers.
- Respond to internal and external accounts payable inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Perform statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and file compliance documentation, including 1099 processing and maintaining current W9 records.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience within the payable function.
- Support special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned.
The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and highly organized with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, invoice review, and payment cycles.
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent typing and 10‑key data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with vendor management and general ledger coding.
- Understanding of compliance requirements, including 1099 reporting.
- Knowledge of internal controls and financial accuracy standards.
- Relevant accounting education, certifications, or equivalent practical experience.
This position works in an indoor office setting with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use in close proximity to other team members.
