Senior Payroll Specialist

Willamette Family, Inc. seeks a Senior Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end, multi-cycle payroll for a mission-driven behavioral health nonprofit. You will process bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff, ensure accuracy of timekeeping, benefits, and deductions, and maintain compliance with federal and Oregon wage and hour laws. This role partners closely with HR and Finance to support audits, reporting, and process improvements, while modeling our trauma-informed, client-centered values in a collaborative, high-integrity environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees
• Maintain and audit timekeeping, deductions, and benefits entries for accuracy
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
• Prepare payroll reports for Finance, HR, and external auditors
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Support implementation and optimization of payroll and HRIS systems
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with discretion and professionalism
• Maintain confidential payroll records in accordance with policy and law
• Collaborate with HR on onboarding, terminations, and pay changes
• Identify and recommend process improvements for payroll workflows
