GPS Technician - River Bend Construction (Eugene, OR) (Construction)

Position Overview

We are seeking a GPS Technician to join our Construction Team.

Location

This is an in‑person position based out of Eugene, Oregon. Travel to Roseburg and Salem as needed.

Shift

Days/nights/weekends. Varies based on business demands.

Compensation

$30/HR - $40/HR, DOE

Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
  • 3+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction, specifically grading, excavation, underground utilities, site work, and/or projects with related scopes.
  • Ability to obtain remote pilot certificate.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to work independently without direct supervision and use available resources to solve problems.
  • Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work well with a wide range of personality types both internally and with subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with reading blueprints, site specifications, and executing project plans.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Safety‑minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination.
  • Must have current U.S. authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years’ experience in Topcon GPS/Machine Control, AGTEK Software, or construction field layout.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Create, manage and maintain project construction layout and construction/mining data.
  • Establish and maintain standardized machine control, GPS survey models and construction survey data for project level operations.
  • Analyze construction documents to perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimation.
  • Plan, troubleshoot and possess analytical skills to perform daily tasks.
  • Prepare and maintain required written records, logs, progress reports, time and weight tickets, safety and inspection documents as required.
  • Consult with project supervisors and engineers, attend meetings, perform on‑site inspections.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
