You’ll help customers, troubleshoot payment issues, keep accounts accurate, and use your attention to detail to spot potential issues before they become bigger problems. Compensation: $25/hr

This role requires availability Mon-Fri between 6 am and 1 pm Pacific. The expectation is working 2-3 hours per day, totaling about 15 hours per week. This is a contract position for a 12-month term.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service via email, chat, and (rarely) phone.
  • Resolve inquiries related to payments.
  • Ensure payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accurate payment processing.
  • Identify and troubleshoot payment processing issues and elevate as needed.
  • Support day-to-day BSA/AML compliance activities, including customer identity verification (KYC), monitoring transactions for red flags, and escalating potential suspicious activity per company procedures.
  • Assist with OFAC/sanctions screening reviews and help resolve or elevate potential matches in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of customer interactions, payments, and compliance-related reviews in line with BSA recordkeeping requirements.
  • Stay up to date with company policies and procedures related to payments, customer service, and BSA/AML compliance obligations.
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and apply it consistently in daily work.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and issues.
  • Provide feedback to management on opportunities to improve payment processing, customer service, and compliance workflows.
  • Identify areas for improvement in payment processing, customer service, and BSA/AML procedures, and effectively communicate these opportunities to management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, payments, and compliance reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in customer service and payment processing.
  • Prior exposure to BSA/AML compliance, KYC/customer due diligence, or OFAC sanctions screening strongly preferred; willingness to complete BSA/AML training required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability and motivation to identify and communicate areas for improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability and motivation to maintain accurate documentation, including compliance-sensitive records.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive customer and compliance information.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient working in Slack, email, and support ticketing systems.
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable home workspace.
