Position Title
Part‑time Dental Hygienist – Lane Dental Clinic, Lane Community College
Job PurposeProvide dental hygiene services to adults and children in a training dental clinic while supporting student learning.
Essential Functions- Support student learning through activities such as teaching compliance with college policies, maintaining leave time and timesheet completion, and managing student records.
- Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching; participate collegially in faculty performance evaluation processes.
- Maintain and post office hours in alignment with college expectations.
- Ensure equipment, supplies, and inventory are safe, quality, and prepared for use.
- Problem‑solve and manage sensitive information with FERPA‑compliant confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Licensed graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Eligible for licensure for dental hygiene in Oregon.
- Successful applicant must complete a criminal background check.
- Must work and reside in Oregon during employment.
- Dental Hygiene Expanded Practice Permit.
- Dental Hygiene Restorative Functions Endorsement.
- Previous experience in a community dental clinic.
- Experience working with medically under‑served populations.
Position works indoors; exposure to typical office conditions, including printer and telephone noise. Requires sitting or standing for extended periods, performing cognitive work more than six hours per day, occasional transport of up to 25 pounds, and readiness to manage potentially hostile or abusive individuals.

- Demonstrate strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Apply well‑rounded leadership, efficient communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Write clearly and present concise summary reports.
- Prioritize tasks and set long‑ and short‑term goals.
- Understand and support the college’s commitment to student success, cultural competency, diversity, and equity.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA standards.
Position supervised by the Dean of Health Professions; the Clinic Coordinator leads day‑to‑day operations.
Schedule and CompensationUp to 40 hours per week with a variable schedule (Mon‑Fri 7:30‑5:30, possible Wednesday evenings, alternate Saturdays). Hourly wage $40.00 per hour. No health benefits are provided.
