The Lane Dental Clinic, Lane Community College, Oregon.

• Support student learning through activities that include compliance with college policies, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering and related functions.
• Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching.
• Collegial participation in performance evaluation process.
• Maintain and post office hours in alignment with college expectations.
• Maintain requirements for student records, attendance, grades, and/or other documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, and inventory.
• Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Work with experienced dentists and dental assistants to provide patient‑centered, comprehensive dental care and training to students.
• Perform opening and closing daily clinic procedures.
• Assist in the administration and coordination of the clinical schedule.
• Support patient education, treatment planning, and restorative services.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities for students.
• Adhere to clinic protocols, infection control, and safety standards.
• Support ADA compliance and accessibility within the clinic.
• Maintain accurate clinic documentation and inventory records.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and clinic committees.
• Ensure a safe and hospitable environment for patients from diverse backgrounds.

• Valid Oregon Dental Assistant Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a dental assistant, preferably in a community or public‑health setting.
• Experience handling medically underserved or socioeconomically diverse patient populations.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of dental software, electronic medical records and billing procedures.
• Proficiency in patient education and motivational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Up to 40 hour shift per week.
• Clinic hours:
  Monday‑Friday 7:30‑5:30 pm, with possible evening or Saturday clinics as scheduled.
• Scheduling will be coordinated with the clinic coordinator to match commitment.

Indoor work with exposure to normal office conditions; requires ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and may involve interaction with patients who may be hostile or abusive. Requires cognitive and psychometric work for more than six hours per day.
