Hourly – determined by experience and education per Faculty Union Contract Part 26.5 Flight Instructors. Part‑time classroom instructors per Article 30.

Minimum 6 months flight experience in the last 2 years.
Licensure or Certification Requirements:
- FAA 1st or 2nd Class Medical Certificate.
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument rating.
- FAA Flight Instructor Certificate.
- Copies of all FAA‑issued certificates & ratings and FAA Aviation Medical Certificate required; originals to be brought to interview; log book and all licenses needed.
Preferred Education:
- FAA Ground Instructor Certificate Advanced and Instrument.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior teaching experience under Part 141 regulations with FAA‑approved Training Course Outline.
- Flight instructor experience under Part 61 with successful completion of 80% of ten or more students recommended for certification.
- Logged PIC time in a Cessna 152, Piper Warrior II, Piper Arrow, Piper Seminole.
- Experience operating Garmin GTN
650 nav/comm. - Familiarity with Eugene airport surface environment and practice areas;
Willamette Valley;
Class D and Class C airports;
Lane Aviation Academy policies and weather minimums;
Training Course Outlines.
To provide high‑quality flight instruction under Part 61 FAA regulations for the Aviation Academy. Faculty are professional educators responsible for providing a quality learning experience for all Lane Community College students.
Essential Functions- Evaluate and maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Continuously evaluate student outcomes through appropriate assessment tools; use results to inform program improvements and enhance multicultural and diversity frameworks.
