Department Information

The Humanities Division is seeking to hire faculty to teach Writing courses. Depending on the candidate's experience, literature courses may be assigned.

* Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are also responsible for following Division and College procedures to support teaching and learning.

* Instructors are expected to teach in various modalities (e.g., online, hyflex) with a preference for in-person teaching.

Required QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Education:

Master's degree in English or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution with credits in English, Composition, Rhetoric, and/or Technical Writing courses.

Required Experience:

Two (2) years of full-time applicable teaching experience, or equivalent combination of part-time teaching experience, within the last five (5) years.

Licensure or Certification Requirements Conditions of Employment:

* Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education

Twenty (20) or more graduate credit hours or fifteen (15) or more semester hours in composition and rhetoric studies, composition theory, writing studies, or similar.

Preferred Experience

* Experience teaching at a community college.

* Experience in teaching and/or developing Hybrid, Hyflex, and/or Online courses.

* Experience teaching Technical or Workplace writing.
