Department Information
Our Communication Studies Department seeks to expand its part-time faculty pool to teach Communication courses.
* Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.
* This is an application pool posting for 2026 and beyond. The position is assigned to Lane Community College's main campus in Eugene, Oregon.

* The Part-time Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid sick leave. Part-time faculty may be eligible for full contracted benefits after meeting certain criteria.

Required QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Education:
Master's degree in speech, Communication Studies, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution with at least one course in Communication Theory.
Required Experience:
One (1) year of full-time teaching (or part-time equivalent) within the past five (5) years.
Licensure or Certification Requirements Conditions of Employment:

* Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.
Preferred QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education
* Twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter graduate hours in the fields of Speech or Communication Studies.
* Substantial coursework, specialization, or expertise in communications studies (e.g. interpersonal communication, organizational communication, rhetoric, etc.).
Preferred Experience
* Experience teaching online courses in communications within the last three (3) years.
* Community College teaching experience.
