The Adult Basic and Secondary Education (ABSE) Department is seeking to hire a Part-time, Advisor 1- GED/Adult Basic Skills.

Required QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Education:
One (1) year of post-secondary education with course work in human services, education, counseling, psychology, social work, ethnic studies, or a related field.
Required Experience:
Two (2) years of related experience in counseling, student advising, student activities, student mentor, or a related field is required.
Equivalency:
Experience reflecting human services programs, workforce, community resources, career and college preparation advising, and demonstrated experience with group dynamics and interpersonal communication skills will be considered.
Licensure or Certification Requirements Conditions of Employment:

* Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.
Preferred QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education
Associates degree in human services, education, counseling, psychology, social work, ethnic studies, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
* Recent work in a community college, workforce, or career center with adults.
* Experience working with basic skills students.
* Familiarity with the GED exam.
* Experience with GED Manager strongly preferred.
