Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Specialist - Open Pool

Early Intervention / Early Childhood Special Educators (EI/ECSE) teach young children (birth to five years old) or provide consultation concerning children with developmental disabilities and sensory impairments in classrooms, homes, and community settings. This non‑tenure‑track, renewable position includes academic‑year and summer appointments, with appointments renewable annually.
Responsibilities- Teach young children (birth to five years) in homes, preschools, and clinic settings.
- Provide consultation and support to parents and community programs.
- Conduct home visits, classroom instruction, and behavioral interventions.
- Develop and monitor Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
- Assist with assessment and monitoring of child development.
- Implement behavior management strategies and instructional methodologies.
- Train and supervise staff.
- Must be able to travel extensively throughout Lane County and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to interact effectively with children, including bending, kneeling, or sitting at child‑size tables and chairs.
- Enrollment in the Central Background Registry is mandatory.
- Valid CPR/First Aid card required.
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education or a related field.
- TSPC licensure required, or EI/ECSE Specialist authorization from the Oregon Department of Education within one year of employment.

- Maintenance of confidentiality per HIPAA, FERPA, and agency protocols.
- Compliance with state and federal laws governing EI/ECSE service provision.
- Exceptional prioritization, timely completion of work assignments, and initiative with minimal supervision.
- High level of professionalism and clear communication.
- Advanced team and collaboration skills with sites, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Experience teaching preschool‑age children with disabilities.
- Experience teaching children with autism, challenging behaviors, and/or multiple disabilities.
- Experience with infants.
- Experience providing instruction, consultation, and support to community programs.
- Experience developing and monitoring IFSPs.
- Experience assessing and monitoring child development for birth‑to‑five age group.
- Experience providing instruction and consultation to parents, including home visits.
- Experience developing and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Experience with diverse instructional methodologies.
- Experience training and supervising staff.
- Experience setting up and managing toddler and/or preschool classrooms.
