The Science Division is seeking to expand its pool of part-time faculty with a passion for teaching and content expertise in Wildland Fire Management.

* Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.

Required Qualifications

Required

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Fire Science, or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Required Experience:

* Demonstrated fireline experience on fires of moderate to high severity and significant experience in fuels, fire effects.

or

* Ecological fire approaches or 300 and 400 level NWCG course training with performance on a management team.

Licensure or Certification Requirements Conditions of Employment:

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education

Master's degree in a Natural Resource Management Discipline or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Preferred Experience

* Instruction of NWCG coursework, NWCG Burn Boss or Oregon State Certified Burn Manager, or tribal cultural burn leader.

* Experience managing fuel loads using a broad range of techniques.
