Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership for the division and participates as a collegial member of college leadership teams.
  • Establishes and promotes a unified vision for the division and advocates for its role within the college.
  • Leads collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on curricula, educational policy, and articulation with other colleges and universities; oversees advisory committees as applicable.
  • Develops, monitors, and negotiates grants and contracts with community partners to generate revenue and enhance services, aligned with division and college strategies.
  • Leads faculty development in multicultural and diversity-based curricula and implements diversity initiatives.
  • Leads program and curriculum development, assessment and improvement, facilities planning, and staff development.
  • Plans and administers division programs and projects; oversees scheduling, modalities, sequencing, teaching assignments, and instructional spaces in collaboration with faculty and management.
  • Supervises, assigns work, and evaluates faculty, classified staff, managers, and student workers.
  • Promotes excellence in recruitment, development, and recognition of division personnel; acts as hiring manager for the division and ensures compliance with college policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements.
  • Oversees assessment of instructional outcomes and implements improvement plans based on outcomes.
  • Allocates personnel, responsibilities, and priorities for program review; plans for future changes based on trends.
  • Advocates for resources and budgeting, including division budgets, expenditures, and prioritization; collaborates on annual budget development and execution.
  • Maintains division records and documentation; leads long-range planning, goals, and evaluative measures; ensures alignment with college mission and transfer/career pathways.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and regional partners to ensure program articulation is current and aligned with transfer and employment needs.
  • Reports on attainment of institutional goals; supports digital literacy, distance learning, and access across the district.
  • Promotes a safe, respectful learning and working environment; addresses student and faculty issues and complaints.
  • Facilitates K-12 partnerships, including accelerated and dual enrollment activities; supports faculty with assessment of courses and programs.
  • Ensures affirmative action and equal employment opportunity policies are implemented and staff development on diversity and inclusive climate is provided.
  • Handles sensitive information with FERPA awareness while maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
:
Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.

Experience
:
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative, management, and/or leadership experience in higher education.
