  • Salary/Wage Range: $18.96 – $27.80 (Classified Hourly Pay Grade
    8)
  • Our application is used to determine your initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered.
  • Part‑time position;
    Variable work hours based on department needs.
  • Schedule may vary with hours increasing during peak periods up to 20 hours per week, up to 1 039 hours in a 12‑month period.
  • Schedules are generally set for one term at a time, but shorter duration or flexible assignments may be needed to meet demand.
  • Two years of post‑secondary education or training with coursework in the area of assignment.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered qualifying.
  • Two years of experience tutoring, mentoring, or otherwise providing one‑on‑one or group guidance to students at the college level.
  • Successful applicants are required to complete a criminal background check. Infractions do not necessarily disqualify a candidate, and will be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis.
  • Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.
Essential Functions
  • Works independently and as part of a team.
  • Tutors and coaches students through assignments, preparation for assessments and projects, and supports learning course‑ and subject‑specific material.
  • Mentors peer/student tutors as assigned.
  • Assists students to work through assigned materials or self‑instructional modules.
  • Observes and diagnoses areas that are causing the student problems in their course assignments, work, or personal correspondence or communication.
  • Discusses problem areas with students and provides explanation, clarification, reference materials or examples.
  • May create study guides or other learning materials to support student learning.
  • Reports needs and issues to the Academic and Tutoring team as needed.
