The Division of the Arts seeks to hire multiple skilled part‑time educators with content expertise in 2‑Dimensional Art, 3‑Dimensional Art, and/or Art History. Courses may include Drawing, Basic Design, Color Theory, Painting, 3D Design, Introduction to Sculpture, Wood Sculpture, Metal Sculpture, Stone Sculpture, Ceramics, and Art History.

- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – List all relevant educational and professional experience, including courses taught in the last five (5) years, if applicable.
- Cover Letter – Clearly detail how you meet the qualifications or are alternatively qualified.
- Portfolio – Up to five (5) examples of professional work from the past five (5) years AND up to five (5) examples of student work.
- Label each image/sample.
- An information page with image/sample identifiers is required.
- Attach images under “Portfolio”, “Portfolio 2”, etc.
- Each field holds 9 MB of data; combine images as needed to fit space limits.
- Alternatively, a single portfolio document or link to an online portfolio with the same criteria is acceptable.
- Transcripts – Unofficial transcripts required at the time of application. Official transcripts required within thirty (30) days of an offer.
Faculty are professional educators whose primary responsibility is to provide quality learning experiences for all Lane Community College students, acting as teacher of record and facilitator of learning.
Essential Functions- Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures; complete leave time, timesheet, release time, textbook ordering.
- Maintain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching.
- Participate collegially in the faculty performance evaluation process.
- Maintain and post office hours in alignment with College expectations.
- Maintain requirements for student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, inventory.
- Problem‑solve and manage sensitive information with FERPA awareness; maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide high‑quality classroom instruction.
- Create, develop, and revise course content and materials.
- Establish learning outcomes; assess outcomes using appropriate tools and use assessment results to inform program and course improvement.
- Incorporate college values into curriculum; promote respectful learning environment and multicultural awareness.
- Teach and develop all syllabi and course materials in a format deliverable to students.
- Confer with students on course materials.
- Deliver curriculum in traditional and online formats.
- Engage within the online course environment to ensure Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI).
- Monitor student progress and provide coaching to struggling students.
- Review and grade all student work; provide timely and substantive feedback.
- Provide timely responses to student inquiries.
- Ensure all materials meet Section 508 guidelines.
- Use effective strategies for online teaching.
