Job Overview

Bethel School District is seeking an appropriately licensed, 0.5 FTE K‑5 Special Education Teacher for Irving Elementary School for the 2026‑2027 school year. Eligible teachers will receive a $4,000 special education hiring incentive and annual bonuses: $1,000 after 30 days, $750 December, $750 March, and $1,500 June.

Salary Range: $50,285 to $101,477, based on experience and education. Contract Days: 192. Benefits include full family medical, dental, vision insurance and a wellness program.

Selection Factors
  • Knowledge of district programs and basic educational techniques.

  • Ability to prepare lesson materials and adapt to student needs.

  • Operate standard office and AV equipment safely and proficiently.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff and other individuals.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, and prompt attendance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by the start of the school year.
  • Ability to implement culturally proficient skills and strategies.
  • Successful completion of fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual and/or bicultural candidates encouraged; will receive preferential consideration.
  • Experience working with bilingual students and families.
