Bethel School District seeks a licensed School Counselor for the  school year at Fairfield Elementary. Candidates with an Oregon Teaching License or who will obtain one by the start of the school year are encouraged to apply. Bilingual and/or bicultural applicants receive preferential consideration.

• Provide counseling support to students and families, fostering a growth‑mindset culture and social‑emotional learning.
• Maintain unconditional positive regard and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs, abilities, and interests.
• Use data to inform counseling and instructional decision‑making.
• Engage with students, families, and the school community, building collaborative relationships with staff and district personnel.
• Participate in professional learning communities and incorporate feedback into practice.
• Implement culturally proficient skills and strategies, addressing implicit bias impacts in education.

• Knowledge of district programs and basic educational techniques.
• Understanding of developmental stages and ability to schedule workload, manage time, and meet student needs.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and work with small groups and individual students.
• Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans and adapt as needed.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships across the school and district.
• Proficiency in operating standard office and audiovisual equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and other individuals.
• Maintain regular, predictable, and compliant attendance.

• Oregon Teaching License valid by the start of the school year.
• Ability to implement culturally proficient skills and strategies.
• Successful completion of background checks (fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC).

• Salary Range: $50,285 to $101,477 (based on experience and education).
• Contract Days: 192.
